What the heck _is_ wrong with this country?
SPD 34,2% (-4,3%)
CDU/CSU 35,2% (-3,3%)
Green Party 8,1% (-0,5%)
FDP 9,8% (+2,4%)
Communists 8,7% (+4,7%)
Clear messages sent by the people to the politicians:
“We want to get rid of the current government, but we don’t want a different government.”
“We don’t want any changes but the parties proposing the biggest changes win.”
“40 years of dictatorship in the east aren’t enough. We re-elect our oppressors.”
It is time to leave this country. Emigration looks like a real option now.

“Schlimmer als Toll Collect” sei das neue System zur Einsatzplanung der bayerischen Polizei. Nichts käme in die Gänge. Schuld ist laut einem Bericht der Nürnberger Nachrichten nicht etwa die Applikation, sondern das verwendete Betriebsystem:
Das Problem bei der Ausschreibung: Die Vorgabe war, dass die Software auf dem Betriebssystem Unix laufen solle. […] verwendet Windows. Branchenexperten halten Unix für überholt,[…]
Wer denn diese “Branchenexperten” sind, und ob sie von besagter Konkurrenz kommen, deren Software nur auf Windows läuft bleibt offen. Und die Frage bleibt, wer denn das eigentliche Problem ist. Die Firma, die ihre Software an eine bestimmte Plattform gebunden hat und deshalb aus der Ausschreibung gefallen ist, oder aber eine Lösung, die webbasiert und browserbasiert ist und deshalb plattformunabhängig ist.
Bis eben war zumindest mir nicht klar, daß Plattformunabhängigkeit ein Wettbewerbsnachteil ist. Nun ja. Schöne, neue Windowswelt.
